Wedding at the Glasshouse, Edinburgh. Neutral tones wtih a splash of peach and orange.

I recently received a thank you note from this couple and it reminded me to share pictures of this wedding. It's always a lovely surprise to get a thank you note in the post, sometimes months after the wedding! These arrangements are very on trend - a relaxed, romantic and wild look with mostly muted tones. I used greens, peaches and a splash of orange and the flowers included rose ('Akito' and 'Majolica'), waxflower, Hypericum, Asclepias tuberosa, Trachelium, Eupatorium, Eucalyptus, Populus and fern.

Odessa calla lily wedding arrangements for a couple of Hearts of Midlothian fans. Wedding at the Braid Hills Hotel, Edinburgh

The bride and groom are big Hearts fans so opted for maroon calla lilies as their focal flower. The burgundy calla lily available via the Dutch flower auction was a variety called Odessa. I used it with white Akito rose, blue thistle, purple eustoma and hard ruscus. The shower bouquet and two bridesmaids' bouquets were constructed in foam, using Oasis foam bouquet holders. Calla lilies are difficult to arrange in a mixed hand-tie design due to their shape and size, so you get much better results using a foam base. The callas were support wired for added security.  

The bride was really pleased with the flowers and went on to say that she could not fault a thing about their special day. Her glowing review of the food has made me want to visit the Braid Hills Hotel for a meal!

Wedding at Dalhousie Castle, Edinburgh.

This is my current record number of bridesmaids bouquets - 7! The arrangements were made with Avalanche and Amnesia roses, thistle, waxflower and gypsophila. The bridesmaids' bouquets doubled up as table centres - they were placed in teapots that had been stacked on antique books.

 

 

 The bridesmaid's bouquet is placed in the teapot, which is adorned with ivy and pearls.

Wedding at Norton House Hotel, Edinburgh

This couple were married at Norton House, a popular wedding venue on the outskirts of Edinburgh. The bride carried a hand-tied bouquet of vendela roses and the bridesmaids and flower girls carried bouquets of pink and ivory roses. I made pedestal arrangements at the venue whilst an event company were dressing the chairs and putting up curtains. The room definitely had the wow factor.
