Wedding at Seton Collegiate Church followed by reception at Thomas Morton Hall, Edinburgh

Wedding at Dalhousie Castle, Edinburgh.

This is my current record number of bridesmaids bouquets - 7! The arrangements were made with Avalanche and Amnesia roses, thistle, waxflower and gypsophila. The bridesmaids' bouquets doubled up as table centres - they were placed in teapots that had been stacked on antique books.

The bridesmaid's bouquet is placed in the teapot, which is adorned with ivy and pearls.

The Bonham, Edinburgh, and the registry office, George IV Bridge.

"Just a quick line to say thank you so much for the beautiful wedding flowers you brought!! An amazing bouquet! Everything was even more beautiful than I had imagined! It was lovely meeting you and you made our special day even more special with all the little details you put in everything!!"

This couple were so enamoured with Edinburgh that they decided that it was the ideal location for their wedding. They travelled from Germany and even found a German photographer with links to Scotland to shoot the wedding (Mareike Murray  http://www.mareikemurray.com).

I'm so thankful to receive professional photographs; it's so nice to see the couple in their wedding outfits - I adore Monika's dress! Monika had a clear idea of the flower choice and style of bouquet she was after. She kept a Pinterest Board of arrangements she liked. It was a pleasure to make the bouquets, buttonholes, corsages and table centres for their special day.

Wedding at Norton House Hotel, Edinburgh

The lovely Michelle and Simon were married in the Garden Suite at Norton House Hotel, Edinburgh. The hotel's sweeping driveway is very grand and the hotel definitely has the wow factor as you approach. You quickly forget you're so close to Edinburgh and the airport as it feels like being in the middle of the country, with highland cows to boot!

Michelle wanted a Scottish, romantic look to the flowers. I bunched together roses, lisianthus and white and blue thistles along with foliage to create a whimiscal, serendipitous look (one of my favourite styles!).

Scottish wedding at Royal Physicians Hall, Edinburgh

In Scotland, rose and thistle are a popular choice for wedding flowers and no wonder, the contrast in shape and texture mean they are a good 'marriage'. In addition, many brides like to include purple in their bouquets. Purple for the bridesmaids dresses was very popular in 2011. Some purple flower options include statice, eustoma, calla lilies, phlox, veronica, vanda orchid, freesia, iris, trachelium and anemone.

I used purple eustoma in Lauren's bouquets and eustoma and veronica in the ceremony arrangement:
