Snowy winter wedding

Eileen and Craig got married on 10 December when Edinburgh had been hit by heavy snowfall. Delivering their flowers was a little dicey but luckily it all went to plan. Eileen wanted an over the arm calla lily bouquet. It's quite a long design and I didn't quite manage to photograph it all in one shot, but hopefully the snaps below give an indication of what the bouquet was like. The bouquet incorporated steel grass with beads, and was backed by a medium sized monstera leaf.

The bridesmaids carried calla lily 'crystal blush' hand-tied bouquets. I kept the stems quite long as it looked elegant and it complemented the bride's bouquet.

The corsages were made with thistle, calla, beads and variegated leaves.

Autumnal flowers

Michelle, who got married at the end of October, wanted a more unconventional wedding bouquet to match her unconventional wedding dress! She didn't want a balanced, round design but something that looked a bit more wild and thrown together. Her dress was brown with green and orange stitching so the bouquet worked well.

The bouquet utilised anigozanthos, leucospermum, gerbera, calla lilies, fern and oak leaves.

I also made two flower girl bouquets using orange roses, purple freesia and lily grass.

A gerbera and oak leaf wrist corsage for the mother of the bride.

And calla lily buttonholes for the men.

October wedding at Duddingston Golf Club

Margo and Allan were married at the end of October on a gloriously sunny day.

The bouquets were made with avalanche roses and finished with a collar of bouvardia.

Margo wanted the table centres to double up as gifts for her friends so I bought some reasonably priced vases from IKEA. I wrapped an aspidistra leaf around the florist's foam to conceal it, and then placed fern, roses, eustoma, freesia and dyed beargrass in the foam.

Bunches of roses and coloured beargrass formed simple yet effective decorations for the chairs during the ceremony.

Margo has already expressed her thanks, writing "Your flowers were beautiful. I can't thank you enough".

Edinburgh Castle wedding

All my contact with Nicole was through e-mail as she lives in the USA. She e-mailed a really useful pdf of what she was after. She wanted simple thistle buttonholes, corsages that looked similar to the the men's design, white rose and beargrass bridesmaids bouquets, and a reasonably small brides bouquet made with dahlias (her favourite flower), thistles, amethyst coloured blooms and finished off with feathers.

Wedding at Edinburgh Castle

Can you tell that I've been contacting this year's clients asking for some wedding photos?! It's great to see the brides with their bouquets. The lovely Ashley e-mailed me these photos of her and her husband's wedding at Edinburgh Castle, which took place earlier this year. Ashely said, My flowers were perfect! I loved them!
